Updates on Greece’s digital tracking of goods

Greece introduces new deadlines for myDATA goods tracking system.

The Greek Ministry of Finance has announced changes to the implementation of digital tracking for goods transported through AADE’s myDATA platform. The update impacts key deadlines and mandatory reporting obligations for businesses.

Summary of the changes

A recent decision (A.1174/2024) modifies the timeline and scope for digital documentation related to the movement of goods. Here’s a breakdown of what businesses need to know.

Implementation phases

  1. Voluntary period for the first group of businesses:
Until March 31, 2025, businesses in the first phase can voluntarily submit their transport data digitally.
  2. Mandatory submission begins for the first group:
From April 1, 2025, entities with gross revenues over €200,000 or handling pharmaceuticals, fuel, and building materials must report digitally.
  3. Voluntary reporting for the second group:
Businesses in the second phase have until September 30, 2025, to opt for voluntary submissions.
  4. Full enforcement for all businesses:
From October 1, 2025, reporting becomes mandatory for all eligible entities.

Key updates and rules

  • Exemptions phased out: By October 2025, previous exceptions under the 2014 regulations (PΟΛ. 1003/2014) will no longer apply.
  • New requirements by product type: Businesses involved in oil, medical supplies, and olive products have specific obligations due to regulatory focus.

Who is affected?

The rules apply to all entities outlined in Greece’s accounting standards law (Law 4308/2014) and impact various sectors, such as retail, logistics, and supply chains.

Takeaway for businesses:

  • Ensure compatibility with the myDATA platform.
  • Review internal logistics processes.
  • Pay close attention to reporting deadlines based on your category.

If you handle pharmaceuticals or high-demand goods, prepare early for mandatory compliance.
