In Denmark, we have been discussing e-invoices since the government introduced the requirement for OIO-XML invoices in 2005.
An extended version of OIO-XML/NemHandel
From the EU’s side, some changes are taking place, among other things, to reduce the possibility of cheating (consciously or unconsciously) with VAT. This means many countries are launching an extended version of OIO-XML/NemHandel, which we have known in Denmark. There will also be expansions in Denmark over a few years.
